Copier Service Tech

paper-jamWe have been working the copier business for many years and oftentimes hear from customers that their copy machine is acting up. Although our Fort Collins area copier technicians are highly experienced and ready to help you with your copier repair needs, there are a few things you can do ahead of time to make sure a service call is warranted. A few simple check ups on your copy machine can help you to determine whether or not to  call a copier service tech.

One of the first things you want to check for is a paper jam. A paper jam is rarely a good reason to call your copier service tech because most laypeople can clear the jam on their own. When you locate the paper jam, take the piece of paper with BOTH hands and pull very gently. Tugging on a paper jam can only create more problems, so I implore you to be patient.

Is your toner cartridge running out? If you are finding the print uneven or light in some places while dark in others, it’s possible that your toner cartridge is low or empty. This is also an easy fix and no reason for you to call your copier service tech. Simply check the toner levels and replace is necessary!

Maybe you find that the pages you have been printing have streaks on them. The first thing to check in this instance is whether the scanner panel on your copier is clean. If you see debris or streaks on the glass, simply grab some glass cleaner and wipe it down. Easy as can be! If none of these things work and your machine is still malfunctioning, give us a call ASAP and we will send a copier repair tech out to help.
